Climbing with Kelsey

Hanging out with Kelsey

The initial reason I went to Anchorage was to see my good friends the Beaudins! I hadn't gotten to see them since moving up here and Kelsey had almost forgotten who I was so it was about time! We had a great time! Kelsey and the rest of us got to do some climbing and I got to know Leah the new Deva in the Beaudin home : )
We had a blast eating, playing, reading, and shopping a much needed break from work and school! Praise God for friends and family who know just when you need a break, some laughter, and lots of encouragement!
Todd, Penny, and the girls! I love you guys! Thank you so much for a wonderful time! You are so encouraging and generous. I am thankful to have you so close by and I am sorry I haven't been down to see you. I praise God that you are a part of my family and I look forward to seeing you soon!
Love you
Kari

Lifeguard!

Hey Everybody! Yes that is me in a helicopter! Last weekend I had the great privilege of being a ride along for a day with Lifeguard. Lifeguard is an air ambulance up here in Alaska and they are wonderful! I got to spend about 12 hours with these amazing nurses, paramedics, and pilots!
We truly appreciate these guys and see them on a fairly regular basis out a CRMC where the quickest way to get a patient into Anchorage is to fly them. We call it a medivac. Since coming out here I've been wanting to take the opportunity to learn from these guys and I finally had the chance : )
I'd never ridden in a helicopter before. It's kind of like riding in a balloon I definitely recommend trying it sometime : )
This past month God has blessed me with many opportunities for education and training. Please continue to pray for us out here! We are the only medical center for an area the size of Ohio and the distance between us and the patient can be frustrating at times. Pray for everybody serving the Copper River Basin that we could get to each patient quickly, safely, and get them the physical and spiritual care they need.
God Bless

Other news

I thought I would put a couple pictures up of some of the people who make this place amazing! Ann who I've had many adventures with!
Emily and Johnny Emily is a nurse at CRMC and they both go up to Mentasta to do kids church!

Asha a dear friend who I met a couple summers ago and Port Alsworth and continues to be great friend!

Nichole my neighbor! An amazing cook and nurse! Who may be crazier then me : )

Just a few weeks ago we had the Copper Basin 300! It is a 300 mile dog sled race and a qualifier for the Iditarod! It was super fun the dogs were so excited to race! They really love to run!

It took them about 3 days to complete the race I've never seen anything like it before there were people here from all over the world even a few Swedes and Norwegians!

It does continue to be cold around here but I've been pretty busy with education stuff so it hasn't slowed me down much! This month I was able to complete my Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum and receive that trauma certification, I completed the Pediatric Acute Life Support Training and received that certificate and yesterday I finished the Emergency Trauma Technician training. I've learned a lot this month and I'm thankful for the opportunities to learn this ministry has brought me! Along education lines I also started taking a Romans class at Alaska Bible College! If you want to work really hard I recommend taking Romans it is so good but you have to put a lot into it!
Thank you all so much for all your prayers. Please continue to pray for me and the ministry of CRMC! Pray for wisdom and strength on my part as I help care for patients. Pray for another Provider to come out and work here. Pray that God would be directing our leadership as they are trying to find a Doctor to come work out here! Pray for the Copper River Basin there are many who do not know Christ as their savior!
I miss you!
God Bless

Tanalian Bible Camp

Winter Camp was a blast! Ann and I had a few obstacles to go through before getting out there though! This moose was the major one!

But after a plane ride out we were in beautiful! Port Alsworth!

The fun started right away with sledding and challenges!

The first challenge was building our dog sled and then racing them as a team! Our didn't stay together to well!
These are the young ladies from my cabin! We had a lot of fun together!

Another team challenge was snow sculpturing ours is "the yellow submarine" : )

This is the majority of the Reversals trying to make a pyramid : )

We also sang and went to chapel everyday! We studied Ephesians and "Who I am in Christ"!

We took a hike up to Tanalian water falls! So beautiful and Daniel flew over us! Then we pretended we were fish!

After a plane ride home wrapped in a sleeping bag I was back to work with a bunch more amazing memories! Pray for Tananlian Bible Camp as summer approaches! They have a truly amazing ministry working with the kids! The staff is wonderful with a heart to teach God's word and reach kids for Christ! Pray for the kids who will come to camp this summer that God will be preparing their hearts. Pray for the kids who have already been to camp that those who know the Lord would be encoraged in their walk with Christ and for those who don't know Jesus as their Savior that they would have changed hearts and turn to Christ.

Its Been Awhile!

Hello Everybody!

Things have been a little crazy up here! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! I was in Glennallen for Christmas and I got to help out with the staff Christmas party. We have a very talented group up here! Many people got out their instruments and shared their talents with us! I also got to make "swedish puff" with Mom over the phone!
We took a month break from going up to Mentasta but we started again about two weeks ago and the kids are just great! Keep praying for the ministry up there. Pray that we would have wisdom in teaching the kids and for safe travel on the roads!

We finally got lots of snow over Christmas and its been pileing up ever since! So we're all set for cross country sking if I can figure out how its done : ) Also we've have a bit of a cold snap! Last Sunday it was -48 F and all week its been getting down to the -30's. But I did finally get to see the Northern Lights!!! They are beautiful! God's creation is just breath taking!

I'm going to post a couple things today. I got the opportunity to go out to Tanalian Bible camp and work as a counselor/nurse for the week over New Years amazing! And I've gotten to do some hicking and stuff!

Miss you all!
God Bless!
